People are always getting married in London day in and day out and this is something that you will really need to go ahead and prepare for at the end of the day. If there is one thing that you need to be aware of when it comes to London wedding photography, it would have to be the fact that you will be shooting most of your shoots outdoors. Shooting outdoors brings in a logistical problem in so many possible ways.
For one, you will need to make sure that the gear that you bring along are protected all of the time. At the same time, there will also turn out to be a lot of challenges in terms of getting your shots done the right way while you are at it. Although outdoor wedding photography in London will turn out to be so much more challenging that what you are used to seeing and dealing with, what you can be rest assured of is the fact that it comes with certain perks and rewards. The scenery and the panoramic views that you will be able to capture in an outdoor wedding will far outshine the views of an indoor wedding. If you want further proof of how beautiful something like this could turn out to be, go ahead and take a look at other photography works.
Protect your gear
When shooting outdoors in London, always be prepared for anything and protect your gear while you are at it. What this means is that you should always have your gear protected at all times. Bring along 1-gallon Ziploc bags that you will be able to easily slip on your cameras and lenses at the first sight of rain, dust, snow, and so on and so forth. Protecting your gear should always turn out to be a main priority for you when it all comes down to it. You need to make sure that you get to avoid any possibility of damages, and so on and so forth as much as you possibly can. Have a nice stash of Ziploc bags handy all of the time. You can stuff it in your camera bag pockets and forget about it, until a need for it arises.
Always shoot in the shade.
This will ensure that you get to go ahead and minimize the glare coming from the sun as much as possible. Try to see if you will be able to pose your subjects somewhere with a little bit of shade all of the time. Try to keep in mind of the fact that there are no squinting subjects in Phil Bourne’s wedding photography work. There shouldn’t be any in yours as well. Squinting subjects will not come out looking great in the photos that you shoot of them and this is the main reason why you need to be very careful with this because this will turn out to be a really common challenge when you are shooting a wedding outdoors while in London.
Bring white sheet
Keep a roll of white sheet handy for those unsightly puddles that are sure to put a damper on your bride’s ability to pose for the photos that you would like her to pose in with an outdoor wedding setup. It will assure her that regardless of what may be going on in the set, her dress will not be at risk of being ruined because you have everything planned out well in advance.
